Speaker at UiN Conference
Tin presented the keynote, “The Norwegian Proptech Market - the good, the bad, and the ugly”, trying to identity some recurrences, trends and what could be beneficial (or not) for the property development industry.
SITRAP awarded the coveted SFU Title
The Center for Integrated, Transdisciplinary Education in Planning (SITRAP) was selected as one of only three centres for excellence in education in the triennial round, hosted by DIKU. founded and led by the dragon lady and professor Elin Børrud. This was done, without the assistance of Tin whatsoever.
EIEJUSS Meet’n’Greet
The students at the dept. were invited in at the offices of the teaching staff, as where they teach and where they research are two separate locations at NMBU. Here, they got an introduction of all the staff members and two powerpoint presentations on Tin and Mats Victor Levin’s research projects.
LANDSAM Faculty Board Meeting
Tin (deputy rep.) was called to his first faculty board meeting, as the representative for the temporary employees were out of town. It is still unknown if anything can be disclosed on this homepage, other than some overarching topics.
CSO - Projects lecture 2.0
Tin returns with a second rendition of his “Projects” lecture at CityStudio Oslo. The aim of the lecture is to understand the conceptual and creative parts of projects. The basis of this lecture is based on 6 years of experience on competitions, parallel commissions and different conceptual projects for private and public stakeholders.
Joining NORSI Research School
in’s PhD was deemed relevant for the NORSI network, on the basis of motivation letters from both Tin and his supervisor, Knut Boge. Some of the key arguments of relevance was that innovation studies offers a framework to read performance, benefits/drawbacks, industry transitions, and the socially responsible impact.
Grønlikaia Finals - Tin & Tomas presents!
For 2 consecutive days, 16 teams across 5 sites will present their proposals. Tin and Tomas Stokke presented on behalf of the team, at 14:00 o’clock, 27th of September. The design and program proposal has been revised on the basis of the midway review before the summer holidays.
Grønlikaia Proposals in the Newspapers
All the proposals were published in the national newspapers, calling it the last of the Oslo harborfront development. Team Haptic, or LondonOn, has been worked diligently right up to the deadline 19th of September, and will defend themselves 27th of September.
CSO - Innovation Districts lecture
Tin will present for the first time at CityStudio Oslo the topic of Innovation Districts through these questions in mind: what is it and why is it sought-after? Is there a so-called blue-print that can be replicated over and over again? How do we operationalise it? Who are the stakeholders, and as one - when are we doing too much or too little? This seminar also includes a roleplay!
Stavern Study Trip with APL100 & EIE100
Tin attended the fabled Stavern trip and gave desk crits at the “virgin” trip of the city/regional planning- and property students as they embark on their profession studies. The students were to formulate a challenge they observed and present to the staff members of different backgrounds at NMBU.
PHDINN908 - Innovation and Sustainable Transition
Tin attends the course, PHDINN908 Innovation and Sustainability Transitions. Sustainable transition research emphasizes the need for transformative change at a systemic level, encompassing wholesale changes in the modes of production and consumption of societal sectors.
CSO - Diagram lecture 4.0
Tin presents his lecture on Diagram, which is remastered for a fourth time. On the basis of student feedback, this lecture now consists of two parts: a one-hour workshop, then a longer lecture afterwards where we cross-reference the student work with the lecture itself.
Arendalsuka 2022
The topics/sessions Tin engaged in were compulsory residence, academia’s role in regional development, challenges in small/medium-sized municipalities, development in larger cities.
NMBU Graduation Day(s)
Finally, the day has come for the students’ graduation day, where they present and defend their thesis, and hopefully graduate with flying colors. Tin has supervised three master theses in property development. In a sense, it is an equally important day for the supervisor as it is for the student.
Grønlikaia - Midway Seminar
Tin will participate with Team Haptic, or the LondonOn team that previously won the Indre Laksevåg in Bergen. The team will participate in Grønlikilen and compete against Helen & Hard and LPO.
Europan Norway Prize Ceremony
Team Air + Haptic was invited to Europan prize ceremony for their 2nd place in the Hjertelia site. All the awarded teams were invited to present at the ceremony. Tin presented on behalf of his team, which was pointed out by the organizer as “the cheekiest presentation of the ceremony”.
DKS Lab - Keynote
As a result of the success back in fall 2021, Tin.uno and Nomad was rehired for a second tour, Hvem påvirker Flekken. The tour is about instigating an attitude and to voice an opinion as to why our physical environment is as it is.
LANDSAM Faculty Board Election
Tin was elected as the deputy member for the period of 2022/2023, representing the temps in research/teaching positions at LANDSAM. He was headhunted for the position, and rose to the occasion by rallying a campaign with slogans in the final hours of the election - narrowly losing out to Gry Rustad Pettersen by less than one vote.
PHDINN904 Final Review
The conclusion of PHDINN904 Doing Innovation. With CROWDCUL as case, Tin was part of the team delving into cultural crowdfunding, and its implications on both artistic production and funding models.
London Masterclass Trip
Tin joins Oslo Metropolitan Area’s the trip, Masterclass London. He was there as the academic alibi among a group of CEOs, executives in the real estate industry. The masterclass was hosted by Haptic Architects and consisted of development projects, such as; Kings Cross, Euston, Battersea Power Station, Googles groundscraper, Queen Elisabeth Olympic Park, White City, Hackney Bridge, LSE etc.
